Operator's Compartment
The large foot well, inclined floor plate with anti-slip surface, and low entry height make entry and exit easy. The small steering wheel on the adjustable steering column reduces steering movements. Unless fitted with dual directional pedals, the direction of travel is changed with a switch mounted in the top of the lift/lower lever.

Chassis
The truck is designed to have a low center of gravity and the frame sections are engineered to form a rigid unitized structure. The battery is housed in the mid-section of the truck, below the operator seat. Side battery removal is an available option.

Drive
A 24 volt 3-phase motor powers the rear steer wheel and provides rapid acceleration and high gradeability. The motor is totally enclosed and has no carbon brushes reducing maintenance costs. In applications where there are frequent tight turns, the RX50-16 consumes up to 30% less energy from the battery than conventional twin motor front wheel drive trucks. With the built in regenerative braking, up to 15% of the energy used can be returned to the battery when the accelerator pedal is released.

Steering
90 degree steering radius makes the RX50-16 very desirable for applications with tight production areas and storage spaces. Automatic adjustment of travel speed as the steer wheel angle increases enhances safety and protects the load.

Tru-View Masts
The RX50-16 comes with a robust mast of rolled alloy I-beam construction and a carriage designed to provide a clear view of the load. If equipped with an attachment, the hydraulic hoses are run in the dead visibility area of the mast sections so they don't obstruct the view of the load.

Tilt Cylinder
A single chrome plated tilt cylinder with spherical clevis bushings acts on the front drive axle to which the mast is mounted. When the mast is tilted back for travel the wheelbase is increased which results in added driving comfort and increased contact pressure on the rear drive tire for increased traction.

Brakes
Fast braking action is accomplished automatically during direction changes through built in full time plugging (motor braking) or by applying the foot brake pedal which activates low maintenance mechanical disk brakes. The mechanical disks brakes are also used for parking.
